(you can only control 3 chracters and if you don't control one atm you won't be able to built his business, which sux :arf: for example if you have 3 chars in the party, and none of them is rogue but you have a rogue in your dynasty, just dont controll it then you wont be able to built his buildings)

badkarma: Do you know about the "manage group" thing?

    http://forum.jowood.com/showthread.php?t=175663 Read this guide I posted ;)

Yep, I agree, ball reading is a great way of making money. I had ball reading in only one city with the main character and 3 employees and earned a lot :)
I'll try in more than one cities too.

(I noticed that the more experienced are the employees and the character, the more money they make in ball reading)

Sisain, I'm not very sure about how you want to organize it. I'm sorry but I got confused with your 2nd post.

I would want too, to be able to organize the scroll bar, but in terms to be able to arrange businesses by importance. For example, to have at first the businesses that I manually operate, and at bottom the ones that work on AI.
Or in the case that I have 2 or more identical businesses, e.g. 2 churches or 2 hospitals, to have them one after the other, so when I want to visit them both, not to scroll upside down.

But as I understand (maybe I'm wrong) your post, you want to separate huts and public buildings, from businesses. Right or not?

Are you aware of the 3 small buttons, horizontally placed, on the top of the scroll bar? If you click each of them, you can isolate public buildings, residences, or businesses. 1 of them or a combination of 2. Did you know that?

    Windows Pro, 32, SP3 - RAM 2 GB - Dual Core 2.4 - GeForce 8500 GT 512 MB

When everything was too developed in the game, (too many buildings, too many businesses, too many people, family members, assets, etc.) the game was crashing or lagging a lot.

After expanding the memory, as per Nirvana's instructions in Technical FAQ, it goes fine. Nothing happens, smoothly running, no matter how heavy it becomes.

Vista has many conflicts in games, not just with Guild II Renaissance, and that often causes games to crash.

As for Windows 7, haven't reviewed that yet.
    :)

    An idea:

    1. Does the saved game work ok if she tries to load it without you joining? That is, only on her PC.

    2. Did you try to start a new LAN game and it worked ok?

If NO to 1. and YES to 2., then probably the previous saved game is too heavy (too advanced in the game, too many buildings and too much activity, etc.) for her PC and it crashes. That is probably because the PC does not have enough free memory to load that game.
In this case, Nirvana has provided a solution in the technical FAQ, no.1, but you should pay much attention to exactly what he says in that solution and follow strictly what he says.

    :)

"Would my character go a place where they're not actually able to cure him?"

Well, no, it shouldn't, but there was such a bug in 4.15, which is fixed in one of the beta patches. So in 4.15, the character would have gone to be treated anyway if the bug existed.
(you can see the list of the bug fixes in the beta patches)

As for the elimination, I was teasing Nirvana. :)

Though to be truthful, in all the beta patches I have played (up to .165), I have not seen plague. Other people though, have seen plague in the beta patches.

I liked the plague, he he. I made a fortune in 4.15 with the plague and I enjoyed very much the challenge to beat it. And I did. ;)

Innocence: You said Infirmery above. You used this word by mistake in the post, or it was actually in the game an infirmery?

Pain medication which is used to treat the plague, can be made only in the hospital. So if indeed in the game there was no hospital, then the plague could not be treated. So maybe it was not due to long waiting, but to lack of treatment.

Check that too if you have saved your game :)

nirvana: That's not a change (in the beta patches), that's elimination of the plague :P

As I explained in the other thread, the employee is lower in hierarchy than his employer, so using "follow me" action by the employee on the employer, it's actually vice versa. That is the employee will go to the employer anyway.

"Follow me" is a command/order so it will work from the higher level to the lower or between equals.

Sorry I didn't mention this before, due to the fact that to me is a well known function. :)

If you had another character player in your group, then it would have worked.

I'm glad it worked out with the other function :)

Yes, because the "follow me" action is from the upper level to the lower one or between equals.

That is, an employee can not give order to his employer :)

And of course your employee went up to your character since the command was actually used ON the employee, NOT BY the employee, because of hierarchy.

Sorry for not defining that earlier, due to the fact that to me it is a well-known function.

The unfortunate thing in your case is that you have only one character player.

When a person of your dynasty (main character, other family member, employee, thugs) is stuck in a function, such as the healing process and remains outside the building or lying on the hospital bed at midnight when nurses leave the healing to go home, or other functions where they remain stuck, there is an easy way to un-stuck them:

Use another character to perform the "follow me" action on the stuck person. (No need for buildings' evacuation or sabotages). Then after that person is set into motion, just click on him/her and click "cancel action".

Remember that "follow me" action works on dynasty members only (main characters, other family members, employees, thugs) and on the courted man or woman. And it works no matter the distance between the performer of the action and the receiving person.

    [Blockierte Grafik: http://forum.runeforge-game-studio.com/images/smilies/smile.gif]

Use the "follow me" action on that person with the other character you have.

That always gets them out of that :), either it is one of the characters or one of your employees, it works. Then, immediately after they are un-stuck, you can click on that person who is following you and cancel the action.

Also, the "follow me" action works when one of your employees or other family members (not of the main group) remain lying down on a bed in hospital at midnight, when the healing action is performed by a nurse, and the nurse leaves. If you ask them to "follow" then they get up of the bed. Remember, that the "follow me" function works only on the same dynasty (employees, family members, thugs) and on the courted man or woman. And it works no matter the distance.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I can suggest to look in the jowood forum:

    http://forum.jowood.com/forumdisplay.php?f=423

    Subforums there:

    1. In the Guild 2 Renaissance sub-forum there are a lot of mods, maybe you'll find a mod there for that. See the 2nd important thread, "Unofficial Mod and Bugfix Thread"
    2. In the Modding Guild 2 sub-forum, there are also descriptions about sovereign, etc.

Search around in those forums, somewhere there must be an answer :)

Sorry Chaos, no more ideas, at least not in this thread.

I was calm expressing an opinion on the subject.
I got insulted, quite heavily, but I was calm again in my response.
Got insulted again, but being calm and all, I didn't respond at all.
And now I'm being told to be calm and get back to the subject.:sarcastic:

So no more ideas, I'm out of here. You see, I have no idea about aggressiveness...:ange:

Well, you made me laugh with the above post, I have to thank you for that, I enjoyed it. (especially the "big boys game" he he)

However, the sad part is that it shows you are so prejudiced that you lose the credibility you want to show in your posts.

A tip: before going around characterizing people you do not know anything about, you should know better what you are talking about, not to make a fool of yourself.

And for history: I've never played the sims, I don't like that kind of games, and I have played war and combat games and enjoyed it, actually quite a lot
And no, I don't need an apology from you, it seems that it's not worth a thing...

    1. I think that's a good idea, for the early years of children.
    2. That's not feasible I guess, since the children go to school and remain/reside (interns) there. However, they gain experience while at school or apprenticeships or university.
    3. There is an item, stone top, that a parent can give to a child and it gives 750 XP to the child.
Additionally, there is a function of the scholars to teach members of family, though I haven't figured it out yet. :)
Moreover, if a member of the family is supreme commander, he/she can train one of the family members as fighters.
Parents could teach their children, but then there would be no need for the schools, apprenticeships and university, I think.
    4. That is already happenning. Except for pens, books you mention.
    5. I totally agree with that. I made a thread in the jowood forum about a new profession > ARTIST > http://forum.jowood.com/showthread.php?t=172190

    :))

Seriously, i have no idea what game you are playing. I have played about 20 games into the 1450s, and not one time was i ever sabtoaged, businous inspected, poisoned, toad shitted, tortured, attacked or assaulted by any of the major dynastys. The occasional burglary from the minor dynastys or an attack on my carts from the minor dynastys, but the major dynastys do absolutly nothing to create challenge. And while it may not be a war game, there is no challenge in the game at all because u are never competed against. Its flat put boring. There is no reason to even use thugs unless u plan on being offensive because u are almost never attacked! Im not looking for a war game, but i am looking for a competant AI who is able to pose a significant challenge or even some challenge at all. As of now its laughable. i could care less if u want to be a fanboy or not, what i say is a fact. the major dynatsys do nothing.

Well, it's rather difficult to be a fanboy, since I'm a female...the last time I checked that is...;)

And in the tone that you are using > I could care less if what you say it's a fact or not. You say so, but in the tone you're writing, it's rather difficult to be taken much into consideration.
So, you should watch your tone, you're bordering on being very rude, whereas the rest of us have been polite with you.

Moreover, if you consider the game "laughable" then maybe you should not play it or enjoy the laugh with it. Same goes if you consider it flat and boring.
Games are made as they are, with the history and course they have, we like a game or not, and no one forces us or you to play it.

We all suggest improvements that we would like to be made, but not in such a pressing way, with a spoiled, childlike and insulting tone.

You mentioned your point, there is NO need to flood the forum with repeating posts about the same thing, over and over again. We got it the first time and maybe if you were more polite, I would have been more understanding to your concerns.
Additionally, you can NOT impose to us to agree with you, and nonetheless you can NOT be rude and insulting when someone disagrees!

The fanboy (or fan-woman as it goes)

The AI never gets to the title nobleman so they can't compete politically, all their soldiers are always escorting, maybe if they had more they would attack but they almost never do. And I very rarely see the AI with over 2 businesses so they can not compete economically.

Well, you're wrong. The AI gets the title nobleman and upper. I have a king in my hometown and of course they are noblemen, in order to be elected in the upper levels. Some other dynasties are too and two of them are barons and 2nd level barons.
The number of businesses depends also on the number of dynasties chosen for a game. There is a finite number of businesses that a city can have the space for. So the more dynasties, the less space for businesses, it's not unlimited.

Anyhow, in the beta versions, Nirvana has already mentioned that the aggressiveness is lowered to deal with other things, in order to fix the bugs. They are beta though, and it won't remain like that. In 4.15 it's higher.

Also, in one of my games (one of beta versions), my rogue character was charged in another city, and I tried 4 times, each time with a different way, to change the course and not have him executed - bribing the participants, threaten them, keeping the prosecutor from attending trial, even killing him in the woods - it was very difficult.

So, it's not that easy from many aspects. For example, play 4.15 version and try to beat the plague. That's a very nice challenge and etc.

(The only thing that I somewhat agree regarding titles, is that the prices are very high for the titles. But, it is very easy to change that and lower the prices for each title.)

I had my buildings sabotaged, burned, burgled etc. several times.

I don't know if you have noticed, but this game is NOT a combat or war game.

And the one mostly complaining about this is you, you've posted this issue several times.
Perform a poll in the forums and get a vote on that.

But again, I repeat, it's NOT a combat or war game. :)

That's the reason I disappropriate the infirmary.. To gain control of pain medicine, yet I can't decrease the number of Black Death affecting my city... >.<" How to make the disease disappear???

Read my reply in jowood forum, I replied to you in "Some stupid questions" thread.

Hi Nirvana, hope you're feeling better :)

I observed (Hansa map, Hamburg, 1 scholar, 1 patron):

    1. Praise bug during sermons for the character still exists. Also, if click the praise button and then cancel it by right-click, then the sermon starts from the beginning again.

    2. Hosts are bought from the church, even when there is no sermon.

    3. Line of functions bug during town sessions, it occurs quite often.

    4. Carts blocked from beginning of map, on the East road of Hamburg, in 2 points.

    5. When patron character is working in Mill, double-clicking his icon will NOT take you to him.

    6. Market is reacting worse than in previous versions:
    a. Copper coins > I sold 5 copper coins to the market, and the AI character sold 6. Price was reduced to 202. From the total 11 coins, 6 remained on the market at 202, and not sold for a period of 6 years. So there is no point in producing copper coins anymore.
    b. Wheat flour - Barley flour > prices greatly reduced with small number of goods.
    c. Thesis papers - I sold 2 thesis papers on the market and the price dropped from 765 to 484, and stays there. So there is no point in producing thesis papers anymore either.
In general, it seems that the market prices drop very fast with a small number of items, but do not raise again. It was better in the previous versions.

Thank you Nirvana for your work :)
