Is there no way to buy ships anymore in Renaissance? In the older versions we could build storehouses on the shore and build ships from there to trade in the counting houses on maps like Hansa.
The new maps all have land based counting houses, but we can't buy ships on the old maps, except with the pirate haven which seems a bit weird.
The harbor has the ship option, but the build icon is always at 0/0.
At Herzogenfurt, I believe all the counting houses are near the water. Not sure if you can buy ship here or not.
You need to build a storehouse near the harbour. You will then be able to build merchant ships. Fishing boats are also possible as a patron with the fishery buildings.

I have tried that and positioning Storehouse near the water, all result in same... No ship building option in the harbor. But on the other hand, Fishery and Pirate Heaven works perfectly.
