I haven't played this series since europa 1400 but I really loved the game. I lost track of it because I didn't realise the game name changed to "the guild". I've been looking for a game like europa 1400 since I played it and haven't found anything remotely close to it. I was excited to find the guild 2 today, but then i saw guild 3 was coming out this year and thought that it might be even better to get in on the ground floor for that game. I also noticed its multiplayer (or at least has the option for it), my son "theAngryGamer91" on twitch might be interested in doing a dual steam with me on the multiplayer as well.
